"Badestrand am Pegelturm" (Pegelturm beach), at "Pegelturm" obervation tower, about 2.2 km from Bitterfeld City Harbour, approx. 30 Minutes to walk

"Goitzsche-See-Strand" (Lake Goitzsche Beach), about 1 km from Bitterfeld City Harbour, approx. 15 Minutes to walk

Have a Panoramic View
You like to enjoy a panoramic view? There are two observation towers!
The first you will find in Bitterfeld harbour: the "Pegelturm" is a swimming observation platform, anchored in the harbour. Just walk there from the parking and enjoy the lakeside promenade.
The second one you will find on a hill on the city outskirts: "Bitterfelder Bogen" (Bitterfeld arch), a steel platform which gives you a great look on the area. Today at July 28th, we are allowed to ride on the hill by motorbike. Please ride carefully on the narrow road!

A swimming tower, anchored in the lake. Access via pontoon bridge. Seperated spirale staircases up and down. Panoramic view all over the lake and the area around.

Grüne Lunge mit Tiergehege und Minigolf (Green area with animal park and minigolf)
The green area starts between Ratswall and Binnengärtenstraße, 06749 Bitterfeld-Wolfen
The animal park is located in the southern corner at Parkstraße 1, 06749 Bitterfeld-Wolfen

Historisches Rathaus (Historic Town Hall)

Build in 1863. Bell tower in neo-gothic style. Includes the Tourist Information Office.
Kreismuseum Bitterfeld mit Bernsteinkeller (Local Museum with Amber Showroom)

Museum of local history. In the basement, you will find the amber showroom. In the coal mines around Bitterfeld, a lot of amber were found in the past, which included many pieces of high scientific value. Especially a lot of pre-historic insects and other species were found enclosed in amber.

Evangelische Kirche St. Antonius (Protestant Church St. Antonius)
Kirchplatz 1, 06749 Bitterfeld-Wolfen
Since 1263 a church is mentioned in the local records. The church was rebuild different times. The present building was build from 1905 to 1910 in neo-gothic style, including an older chapel. In 1958/1959 the church was renovated and the interior was simplified.
The church will be open during the afternoon, and staff will be on location to answer questions.
Wasserzentrum Bitterfeld (Water Center Bitterfeld)
According to our latest Information the water center is closed temporarily. We will keep you informed

Information center, located in the former waterworks. Here you can learn more about the history of public water supply. Unfortunately, the center must close at 14 o'clock because of lack of staff, so only short visits are possible. You should enter before 13 o'clock.

Bitterfelder Bogen (Bitterfeld Arch, observation platform on a hill on the city outskirts)
About 2,1 km away from the city harbour. Please Note that the road on the hill is closed for motorizes vehicles! Please stop at the parking below and walk above.
On top of the hill, you will find a large steel construction which is styled like a bow. From the platform on the top, you will have a wide view on the city and the area around.

To ride from Bitterfeld City Harbour to Bitterfelder Bogen, please use main road B100, direction "Halle" and whatch out for traffic signs along the road which guide you to "Bitterfelder Bogen".
Buchdorf Mühlbeck-Friedersdorf (Book Village Mühlbeck-Friedersdorf)

Village of books, where you can find book shops for antiquarian books. 4,3 km to ride or about 1 hour to walk from Bitterfeld City Harbour along the lakeside.
